Cleveland Browns Josh McCown Out for the Season With Collarbone Fracture

Cleveland Browns quarterback Josh McCown will miss the remainder of the 2015 season after fracturing his collarbone in a 33-27 loss to Baltimore on Monday night. Head coach Mike Pettine refused to name a quarterback for Sunday’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Austin Davis and Johnny Manziel  are his options, however Manziel  was recently moved to third string, a disciplinary measure, for his decisions during the team’s bye week and because he lied to the coaching staff about a video that appeared of him partying in Austin, Texas.

“I don’t want to head down this slope,” he said. “I’m going to reserve talk for the quarterback stuff until [Wednesday].”

Pettine said he would “take everything into consideration” when deciding which quarterback starts.

McCown completed 186 of 292 passes for 2,109 yards with 12 touchdowns and four interceptions. His final QB rating was 93.3.

Reportedly, the Browns have reached an agreement with free agent wide receiver/quarterback Terrell Pryor. Pryor was signed as a receiver, but he could potentially double as an emergency quarterback with McCown now out for the season.

“Nothing is official so I don’t want to speak on that yet, but I am obviously aware that that report is out there,” Pettine said.
