Denver Broncos backup quarterback Brock Osweiler will remain the Broncos’ starting quarterback for at least another week Peyton Manning. Osweiler threw for 250 yards and two touchdowns in the Broncos 17-15 win over the Chicago Bears on Sunday.
Manning reportedly is with rib and foot injuries, but has struggled this season throwing 17 interceptions. Osweiler not throw an interception on Sunday. Speculation began almost immediately after the game about the future of Manning in Denver, injury or not.
Reportedly Manning wants to play at least one more season, even if it’s not in Denver, according to Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.
Denver head coach Gary Kubiak is in between a rock and a hard place. Kubiak was asked after the Bears game who he plans to start in Week 12.
“I knew that was coming,” Kubiak said of the quarterback question. “Here’s the deal — we got healthier here today. We’ve got some guys on this team that we’re trying to get healthy, so that’s important. And we won our eighth game. So we’re going to focus on winning today and enjoy winning and we’ll go back to work next week.”
