Do you love talking about your team? Wish you had the audience to broadcast your opinions to? — Well we have a proposal we think you will love.
At NextEra we continually strive to bring you the best coverage possible. In our effort to do so we are looking to add additional sites to our network – one for every team in the NFL.
We are currently on the lookout for talented & passionate writers to become lead Editors for our new sites. Past journalism work would be beneficial but not necessary. The main attributes we look for is a bit of talent and passion for their chosen team and sport. Below is a summary of what we can offer you and what we would ask for in return.
Who are we?
At NextEra, we are a group of dedicated professional sports journalists and analysts that strives to cover the sports you love, the best way possible.
We pride ourselves on being interactive with readers and fans through social media. Our NFL network centers on our home news hub – NextEra NFL and expands to a dedicated fan blog for each team.e.g. The Falcon Wing – Atlanta Falcons.

Professionally designed team website:
The NextEra website theme includes an interactive news ticker, rotating image carousel, latest news section & additional page options that can be used for your team’s schedule, stats or site information. Check out the Falcon Wing for an example of the theme in action (www.thefalconwing.com)
Professionally designed logo:
We will design you a fresh new logo that fits with the name for the site (you will help us decide on the name)
Domain name independence (If you already run a sports blog):
As long as you own or have access to the domain name for your current site, you would be able to use it within the NextEra stable of sites. However, if you would prefer a different domain name or lacking inspiration, we will work with you to secure the best name possible (subject to availability)
Editorial control:
We manage all of the technical and administration side of the site so you can focus on sourcing stories and writing the most engaging content possible. We will do the hard, boring work so you don’t have to! If you feel you can add technical expertise to the network, let us know how you think you can help!
Additional Ad Revenue – Did we mention we would pay you?
Being part of a wider website network will expose you to greater visitor numbers and potential ad revenue. As a NextEra site Editor, you will be entitled to 50% of your team sites revenue. Associations with recognized brands such as Verizon Wireless, Under Armour and Netflix ensure we will maximize the revenue from the site’s visitors.
Although we cannot class this as full or part time employment, it will be a nice bit on the side each month.
SEO Expertise:
With over four years of professional SEO expertise within the NextEra management, there is very little we don’t know about search optimisation. Our SEO team will set up/ re-energize your website for the search engine visibility and drive as many to your content as possible.
Speedy transfer:
If you have a website/domain you want to transfer, we can have your new NextEra website active within a day of authorisation.
What we ask of you (very little in all honesty!)
Regular content:
As Editor of your site we would ask you to post ideally 10 times a week. A mixture of content including team news, injury reports and game analysis will turn your site into a must-read for fans of your team. Ultimately, the more you post, the more visitors you attract. The more visitors attract, the more money you make.
Social media management
Social media is vital for both publishing and discovering news in todays 24 hour news culture. As Editor of a NextEra site, we ask all team sites to create and manage a Twitter and Facebook presence.We may also from time to time ask you to perform a simple task. This may include creating a link exchange with external websites to help drive visitors to your site.
We only ever ask you to do something if we feel it will benefit your site.
