Ravens Lose QB Joe Flacco for the Year with Torn ACL

flaccoThe Baltimore Ravens lost quarterback Joe Flacco to a season ending knee injury and the ravens 16-13 win over the St. Louis Rams on Sunday.  The injury has yet to be confirmed by an MRI but Flatau said he tore his anterior cruciate ligament and medial collateral ligament in his left knee on the first play of the final drive. He courageously played the next two plays and spiked the ball to stop the clock for Justin  talkers 47 yard field goal.

“I think it was a courageous performance by Flacco at the end,” coach John Harbaugh said.

Flacco  Has started 122 straight games in his career with the Ravens since being drafted in 2008. Matt Scahub will now take over for the ravens will play the Cleveland Browns on Monday night, November 30.

The Ravens were expected to rework Flacco’ s  contract in the off-season in order to cap room. His salary counts as $28.55 million next season.

Baltimore has experienced a nightmarish season in regards to injuries. Justin Forsett, Flacco, No. 1 receiver Steve Smith, defensive captain Terrell Suggs,  first-round draft pick Breshad Perriman and center Jeremy Zuttah have all been injured for the Ravens.
